　　向我们介绍一下您的背景吧：您是从事金融行业吗？平时有没有一些可能对您的交易有帮助的兴趣/爱好？

　　Tell us a bit about your background : do you work in finance or have any finance-related experiences/education, any interests/hobbies that potentially helps with your trading？

　　Deric：我从小就对金融市场很有兴趣，在上大学之前就开始做交易了。当然，一路上犯过很多错误，付了很多‘学费’，甚至也报名过很多昂贵的专业培训班。

　　陆陆续续间，我因为个人兴趣而开始交易以来已经20年了。期间，几乎尝试了所有市场和产品，比如股票，债券，汇市。而通过对经济学和货币理论的研究，我能深入的理解市场的结构运作，以及不同市场和产品之间如何互相影响。

　　Deric：I was fascinated by financial markets since I was young and started trading since before uni. Of course, I had made a lot of mistakes and paid many expensive lessons to the markets and many professional training classes. I had traded almost all markets from shares to bonds since my journey almost 20 years ago.

　　My studies in economics and monetary theory had helped me learn how market structure works and how different product and markets affect one another. All markets are intertwined in one way or another, it is just not always clear right away.

　　在面对近期市场巨大的不确定性和波动性中，您如何评价自己近来的交易表现呢？

　　How do you rate your trading performance lately, especially given the market uncertainty and volatility？

　　Deric：是的，在面对今年如此疯狂的市场波动中，我抓住了很多大好机会，对自己这一年的表现相当满意！在如此短的期间内黄金能走出3位数的价格波动，可以说是十年一遇的交易机会。要记住的是，一旦抓住某个大利好/利空就应该hold住仓位，避免过早套利离场。

　　Deric：I am very happy with my performance in this crazy year of extreme volatilities by capturing quite a number of big moves. Seeing gold making triple digit gains/drops in nominal prices within a short period are opportunities that might only come once a decade. We must remember to ride the trend once you caught it and dont get out too early.

　　你认为黄金价格和汇市是可以被人为操纵的吗？

　　Do you think the Gold price and financial market can be manipulated？

　　Deric：我不这么认为，汇市作为全球最大的交易市场，体量过大不可能被认为操纵。黄金价格受到诸如通货膨胀，避险资产转移，和货币宽松等经济条件的影响。

　　外汇市场比世界上任何人的财富都大，比任何政府的财富都大，所以我不认为任何人都可以操纵它。

　　它始终被市场所驱动并将永远如此。

　　Deric：The markets are too big for anyone to manipulate it. Gold prices are affected by economic conditions such as inflation, flight to quality, and monetary easing.

　　The financial markets are bigger than any person's wealth in the world and bigger than any government so I do not believe it can be manipulated by anyone.

　　请问您的交易策略是什么呢？

　　What are your trading strategies？

　　Deric：我有一些对我来说效果很好的策略。

　　趋势交易是我在目前这样大市场波动中使用的。因为趋势一旦建立就趋向大方向移动，而我们只有通过良好的自我控制才能驾驭它，并且不会过早套利退出。当政府，中央银行，地缘政治动荡等市场不确定因素太多时，我认为趋势交易是最好的策略，并且始终关注那些可能受趋势影响会涨或跌的产品，并抓住这一趋势。

　　当市场平静且处于横盘整理状态时，我倾向于设有严格止损区间的短期交易。设置止损是为了应对大盘突破重要关口的突发状况。根据我的经验，短期交易的关键在于风险管理。如果在交易中犯错了，应该尽早关仓然后重新开始。早期的我曾经犯过一个错误，就是将短期交易变成长期的“投资”，因为我当时无法从心理上接受自己错了。这样的鸵鸟心态下，为了持有造成损失的交易单，往往会追加保证金，导致最终损失严重超出预期。

　　老实说，时至今日我也会忍不住这么操作，我认为拒绝承认自己的错误是人类的天性，但我们必须抵制天性，最大力度得保持自律，学会风险管理。

　　Deric：I have a few strategies that are working fairly well for me. Trend trading is what I use during big market movements such as now because the trends tend to move in large directions once established and we just have the self control to ride it and not get out too early. When there are so much market uncertainties from governments, central banks, geopolitical instability I believe trend trading is the best strategy to use and always keep an eye out on any and all products that might be ripe for a break out and catch that trend.

　　When markets are quiet and moving mostly sideways, I tend to do short term trades, but with tight stops to minimize being on the wrong side of any major break outs. Short term trading is all about risk management in my experience, if you are wrong on the trade cut it early and restart all over again. One of the mistakes that I made a lot early on was to turn my short term trades into long term “investments”because I cannot mentally accept that I was wrong, next thing I know, I am losing a lot more than I was prepared and ultimately leading to a few margin call liquidations.

　　I still do this every now and then as it is just human nature I think, but we must fight the urge to trade on hope and get back to our trading discipline.

　　Who is your most respected investor, and why？

　　Deric：吉姆·西蒙斯（Jim Simons）教授，他创立了文艺复兴科技公司( Renaissance Technologies )，该公司在收益上领跑市场30多年。尽管我远不及西蒙斯教授那么聪明，但我相信一样的理念—— 即市场相互关联，因此存在寻找机会的模式。市场不是完美的，我们需要意识到市场调节效率低下既是陷阱，又是机遇。

　　Deric：That would be Professor Jim Simons who founded Renaissance Technologies whose been outperforming the markets for over 30 years. While I am nowhere near as brilliant as Professor Simons, but I believe in the same thesis. Markets are correlated with one another and as such there are patterns to find opportunities. Markets are not perfect, there are inefficiencies we need to be aware of it being both opportunities and traps.

　　请问对您在 TMGM交易获利的一百万有什么打算呢？买房或者买些喜欢的奢侈品吗？还是继续投资？

　　How do you expense this 1 million？ Buy a house/some luxury goods :) ？ or re-invest？

　　Deric：继续投资，希望有朝一日，我能创建一个对冲基金。

　　Deric：Reinvest and keep trading, I want to establish a hedge fund one day.

　　有什么经历对您的交易行为产生了深远影响？您从中学到了什么？

　　Do you have any experiences that deeply impact on your trading behaviours？ And what have you learnt from the experience？

　　Deric：2011年，我在交易时选择了自己过于自信的认知，而不是逻辑。

　　当时我不认为美元会相对日元贬值，我基于这样的主观看法进行交易，认为美元可能会很快升值，因此我继续做多美元兑日元。最终爆仓了，我损失了所有的钱。

　　这是一个非常艰难的教训，花了很多年的时间才能重新开始交易，然后慢慢地重新建立自己的策略和纪律。我永远不会忘记那次在交易中我让情感和主观认识压过了自己面对困境该有的理性应对，市场总是能胜出！

　　Deric：2011, moral hazard got the better of me instead of logic. I didn't believe the USD will depreciate against the JPY, it didn't make sense to me at that time and I traded based on non-sensical believe that the might dollar will strengthen soon so I kept on piling on more long USDJPY positions. I ended up getting liquidated and loss all my money.

　　It was a hard lesson and it took me many years to rebuild myself to trade again and then slowly I rebuild my strategies and discipline. I never forgotten what happens when I traded on emotion and moral hazard instead of facing the difficult reality, markets are always right!
